Many lawsuits and fights were carried out, in the battle to decide who the actual inventor of the game really is. Technically its still contested, with the original programmer getting no credit for actually developing the tetra game. Eventually it was released on PC with improved graphics and sound. Why is the game so popular? Its basically something you can learn in 5 minutes, having a very simply gameplay. So even grandmothers could sit down and be playing within 5 minutes. I think its that sweet and simple (yet addictive) factor which launched this entertainment.
But soon the game starts speeding up, as you pass through the levels. It becomes harder and harder to actually make it through, with the tetra squares falling at record speeds. Have you ever beat the game? Its still being pumped out in newer versions today, on all consoles. It has remained a popular icon for over 20 years and its still highly searched on the internet today, which suggests its not going anywhere.
